I have a private office in Mason, MI or I travel to your location with all of my supplies.
I am a formally trained Myomassologist which is the fancy way of saying, 'Massage Therapist with lots of other modalities'.
Myomassology is an integration of techniques including basic Swedish massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, shiatsu, energy balancing, tuina Chinese medical massage, acupressure and craniosacral therapy along with other modalities in conjunction with instruction in nutrition, meditation and yoga. The term Myomassology was coined by Irene Gauthier to describe her combined work of Swedish massage, craniosacral therapy, reflexology and body mechanics.
I graduated from a Southfield, MI holistic massage school in 2003. Irene's Myomassology Institute. http://www.imieducation.com/ I've been a part-time LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) for over 10 years and have just become licensed with the State of Michigan. That's licensure at the national and state level.
A little about my personal life:
I am 40, although my looks reflect a perpetual youth :) I am a Michigan transplant by way of MSU (Go State!), from a warm and tropical region. I am from a USAF family. I have a family of my own, a dog, 3 aquatic turtles, and about a million red wigglers for vermicomposting. I have an extensive post-secondary education, another occupation, and numerous interests with lots of passions for social causes. I live a very holistic lifestyle and practice Bikram Yoga daily at a local studio. I am an avid recycler, thrift shopper and upcycler. I am gluten and dairy-free, but I do eat meat. I love meat!
I've overcome personal obstacles as we all have, and I am sure there are many more ahead.
Massage is a deeply personal experience. Our bodies are the most personal thing we have and you are trusting me with yours. I honor that role.
Helping people to feel better, mind, body, and spirit, is very rewarding to me.
I've frequently been told that I'm doing the work I was meant to do.
To me, it's not work though.
How many people wake up every day and actually look forward to work?
I have a lot of varied continuing education and experience with massage therapy.
I've worked in salons, day-spas, massage clinics and gyms. My current private practice has elements of all, but is unique from them all. Throughout, I have always offered mobile massage.
All of those experiences have helped me to become a well-rounded massage therapist.
I approach each client as an individual, as no two clients have the same exact needs.
I tailor my massage sessions to the client's needs.
If you are experiencing pain, feeling blue, or have had a recent or past injury, massage could be for you!
My goal is to make the world a better place....one massage at a time.
I look forward to restoring some of your balance through massage :)
